Telemundo Boston called upon their local international soccer experts to analyze the 2018 FIFA World Cup draw on Friday as Boston City FC President and Coach Palhinha gave his opinion on the first round groups for next summer’s tournament.

Palhinha joined host Pedro Castro Amare and former US Men’s National Team defender Carlos Llamosa in the broadcaster’s Newton studio to debate the eight groups that were decided when all 32 nations qualified for the 2018 showpiece learned their fate.

“There are no easy groups in the World Cup, but some teams will be more pleased than others with the draw,” said Palhinha.  “Brazil should be pleased, but Switzerland are very underrated, Costa Rica qualified well from CONCACAF and Serbia is a good European team.  Argentina has a difficult group with four strong teams, facing Nigeria, Iceland and Croatia.”

Palhinha was selected to play for the Brazilian national squad 16 times, scoring 5 goals and he participated in the US Cup, played in the United States, the Copa America, and the preliminaries for the 1994 FIFA World Cup.
