Boston City FC Brasil has appointed Carlos Rossi as coach of the Under-20 team based at the club’s Manhuaçu academy that will compete in the Mineiro state leagues.

Rossi has signed a three-year contract to lead the development of the Manhuaçu academy-based U20 team this year and then the club’s professional team the following two years.  He has coached in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais, and with the Thailand women’s national team and clubs in Asia.

“The prospect of coaching Boston City makes me very happy,” said Rossi.  “The growth potential that Boston City has is very clear and the facilities here are excellent, but it is the seriousness and commitment of the ownership that really excites me.”

Boston City FC Brasil has already conducted numerous evaluations of youth players from several states and will welcome members of the Under 20 team to Manhuaçu on January 29.  The academy will focus on four age groups: Under 14, Under 15, Under 17 and Under 20.

Boston City FC owner Renato Valentim, said: “We are already moving quickly to compete in the Mineiro championship this year, and in 2019 we plan to establish a professional team to continue the development of our players.  We will do everything in a well-balanced way so that our project evolves gradually.

“As we said when we launched Boston City FC Brasil, there will also be an opportunity for player exchanges between here and our club in the United States, which continues to grow and enjoy success.”
