#11Kevin Herrera

Midfielder

Kevin signed in the offseason from Greater Lowell United having played in a friendly match for the Lions at Assumption College.  After working his way into the side early in the 2017 season, he made headlines in the U.S. Open Cup win away to Western Mass Pioneers.  The Lynn, MA, native provided a pinpoint cross for the equalizing goal in extra time and then coolly tucked away the fifth and decisive penalty in the shootout after a 2-2 draw.

He finished third on the team in scoring with four goals in all competitions and contributed five assists, which was the second most for the Lions this season.  He totaled 769 minutes, playing in every match except the season opener.

The former New England Revolution Academy midfielder Kevin Herrera joined Boston City following a successful college season with Daniel Webster, where he helped the Eagles to the New England Collegiate Conference title and the second round of the NCAA playoffs.

He led the Eagles (14-3-6) in shots as he scored 10 goals and added 6 assists, while starting all 23 matches, earning All-Conference third team honors in the process.  He was named NECC Tournament MVP.

In 2016, Kevin played in the final six matches of Greater Lowell United’s NPSL campaign and scored and had an assist in the split series against playoff-bound Boston City.

Kevin played with Seacoast United Under 18s for one season and with the club’s Under 16s for two years having been a member of the New England Revolution Academy when aged 13 to 16-years-old.  In 2012, he represented the Revs Under 17s at the Future Champions Gauteng Tournament in South Africa.

Kevin attended Lynn English, Buckingham Browne & Nichols private day school in Cambridge and North Andover’s Brooks School, before heading to UMass Lowell where he redshirted his junior year and transferred to Daniel Webster College.
