Lions Return To Revere As Part Of Reds Double Header

Boston City FC return to Revere on Sunday, June 9, to complete a double-header of National Premier Soccer League action against the Rhode Island Reds.

The Lions and Reds clash at 6pm at Harry Della Russo Stadium on Sunday, two days after the sides meet at Johnston High School in Providence (kickoff 7pm) to resume a rivalry that sees Boston City unbeaten in five previous meetings.

Tickets for Sunday’s match in Revere are available at www.BostonCityFC.com.

While the Lions (1-5-2) look to bounce back from two straight home defeats, the Reds (0-4-1) sit on the foot of the NPSL North Atlantic Conference table and are in search of a first win of the season. The visitors hope former Boston City player of the year and all-time top scorer Isaac Nana Addai will return from injury to face his former club.

Boston City’s record against the Reds is won 3, lost 0, drew 2. In 2016, when Michael Bustamante, Homero Morais and Darlan Rocha scored in a 3-2 home win and Rocha hit the target again to edge an away victory 1-0 and secure the club’s first-ever playoff berth. In 2017, a 3-3 home draw, as Addai hit a hat-trick against his former club, was followed by a 3-1 away win with Addai (2) and Filipe Dutra on target. Last season, the rivals met just once and shared the points in a 2-2 draw in Rhode Island, with Addai again netting twice.
