Managing Director Craig Tornberg Departs Boston City FC

Boston City FC managing director Craig Tornberg is to leave the club at the end of September.

Tornberg has guided the club’s direction since its inaugural season in 2016. He secured local partnerships, including a multi-year uniform and apparel agreement with New Balance, integrated Boston City within the local community through fan and youth soccer initiatives, and charted the club’s off-field strategy.

“We wish to thank Craig for his valuable contribution to Boston City FC and the role he played in establishing the club in the Greater Boston area,” said owner Renato Valentim. “Craig helped us take an idea and a vision and create a popular and successful product both on and off the field. We wish him good luck moving forward as he pursues other projects.”

Tornberg added: “I am grateful to have had the opportunity to serve as a consultant to Boston City FC and provide strategic direction to the club. It has been an honor to have worked with Renato and the committed staff of the club. Helping introduce the club to the community and watch it become a meaningful part of sport locally has been gratifying. I am looking forward to seeing the organization continue to grow both in the Greater Boston area and Brasil and look forward to joining our tremendous supporters, particularly the Ironsides Crew, next season to cheer on the team.”
